Garlic Chili Squid Stir Fry

- 1 pound squid tubes, cleaned and sliced
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 Thai chilies, thinly sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, julienned
- 1/2 cup snow peas
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (optional)
Steps
- 1 Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
- 2 Add the squid and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until just opaque.
- 3 Remove the squid and set aside.
- 4 In the same skillet, add the remaining oil, garlic, and chilies, and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- 5 Add the bell pepper and snow peas, stirring frequently for 2-3 minutes.
- 6 Return the squid to the skillet and add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil.
- 7 Stir well to combine and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
- 8 If desired, add the cornstarch mixture and cook until sauce thickens.
- 9 Toss in the green onions and cilantro, then remove from heat.
- 10 Serve immediately.
