- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, sliced
- 4 sub rolls
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Steps
- 1 Preheat oven to 375°F.
- 2 In a large bowl, combine beef, pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic, egg, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix gently.
- 3 Form mixture into 12 meatballs. Place on a greased baking sheet.
- 4 Bake for 20 minutes.
- 5 Spread marinara sauce over the bottom of a baking dish.
- 6 Place cooked meatballs in sauce and top with mozzarella slices.
- 7 Bake for another 15 minutes or until cheese is bubbly.
- 8 Slice sub rolls open, stuff with meatballs and sauce, and garnish with fresh basil.
