- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups marinara sauce, store-bought or homemade
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Steps
- 1 Preheat oven to 375°F.
- 2 In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- 3 Form the mixture into 1-inch balls.
- 4 Arrange meatballs in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
- 5 Pour marinara sauce over the meatballs.
- 6 Sprinkle 1 cup of mozzarella cheese over the top.
- 7 Bake for 45 minutes, or until meatballs are cooked through and cheese is bubbly.
- 8 Top with remaining mozzarella and bake for an additional 5 minutes until cheese is melted.
- 9 Garnish with parsley before serving.
