- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup corn syrup
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup pecan halves
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
Steps
- 1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9x9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- 2 In a medium bowl, combine flour, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, and salt. Cut in the butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 3 Press the crumb mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 15 minutes.
- 4 While the crust bakes, whisk together brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, and vanilla in a bowl. Stir in pecans and cinnamon if using.
- 5 Pour the pecan mixture over the hot crust and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until set.
- 6 Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
